PAUL POGBA has been a completely different animal under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United.

Frozen out by Jose Mourinho and forced into playing a dreary style, seemingly designed to destroy his creative flair, Pogba is now back to his terrifying best.

The French star, 25, showed just how talented he still is for France at last summer's World Cup.

But until now, Pogba's return to Old Trafford for a then-world record £89million appeared to be nothing more than a mega-money flop.

Yet Solskjaer has himself returned, this time as caretaker manager, and Pogba has blossomed into the player most people believed he could be.

Since the Norwegian - who has won all six of his opening games - took over the former Juventus star has been a beast.

Not only is Pogba boasting higher numbers in the goals and assists per game categories, but also in passes and chances created.

The midfield maestro has leapt from 0.2 goals and 0.2 assists per game under Mourinho to 0.8 in both under Solskjaer.

Pogba has also nearly doubled his chances created and is racking up 20 more passes per 90 minutes under new management.

His win-rate has gone from 42 per cent under Jose to 100 per cent under Ole - and is even taking more than one shot extra per outing at 4.41 per 90 minutes.

Pogba was exceptional against Tottenham on Sunday, laying on the assist for Marcus Rashford's superb winner.

Both players have looked resurgent under Solskjaer, with Rashford scoring in three consecutive games for the first time in his career.

David De Gea was superb too, making 11 saves and keeping a clean sheet - a Premier League record.

Meanwhile, the Spaniard is hoping to sign a new long-term contract at United, but will demand £300,000-a-week.

But arguably the key cog in United's rampant upturn in fortunes - other than Solskjaer - is Pogba.

And three-time Premier League champion Yaya Toure reckons the France star's form is all down to "feeling the love" again.
