Mings, 25, has made two Premier League starts this season and is behind Steve Cook and Nathan Ake in the pecking order at the Vitality Stadium.

Eddie Howe will let him go on loan to the Championship to get game time before returning to the club to compete for a regular place.

Mings has suffered a serious knee and back injury which has limited his chance after arriving from Ipswich.

But he is highly regarded at the club and the loan at West Brom will be a chance for him to get regular games.

Meanwhile, Mepham has told Brentford he only wants to join Bournemouth - because of Howe’s longstanding interest in him.

The Cherries are in advanced negotiations to sign the Bees defender after three failed attempts to sign him in the last three windows.

Southampton are also keen on Mepham, but Howe’s continued faith, as revealed exclusively in SunSport this week, means he only wants a move to the Vitality Stadium.

Bournemouth see landing the 21-year-old at long last as a big coup that will strengthen Howe’s central defensive options.
