Luke Shaw ill and withdrawn from Man Utd starting XI – with Diogo Dalot taking his place against Brighton
Matteo Darmian is placed on the subs' bench for the match at Old Trafford
LUKE SHAW has been withdrawn from the Manchester United starting XI for the match against Brighton & Hove Albion.
The England left-back has been taken ill in the warm-up at Old Trafford.
Shaw will be replaced by Diogo Dalot, with Matteo Darmian coming onto the Man Utd subs' bench.
It is not clear what is wrong with Shaw.
The club said on social media: "Luke Shaw has been taken ill in the warm-up so Diogo Dalot comes into the #MUFC starting XI. Matteo Darmian replaces Dalot among the substitutes."
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will likely switch captain Ashley Young to the left and start Dalot at right-back.
Solskjaer had initially named an unchanged side for the visit of the Seagulls, having won all six of his matches in charge so far.
That meant that Romelu Lukaku remains on the bench.
Alexis Sanchez has recovered from a thing problem and is back on the bench after missing the last two matches.
It is only the third game Shaw has missed for the club this season, in a campaign where he has been a pretty consistent performer.

United fans, however, couldn't hide their disappointment at the defender missing another game - Shaw has only played 88 matches for the club, missing 96 games since joining the club in 2014.
