Unai Emery has been handicapped by a crippling defensive injury crisis this season.

The Spanish boss has been forced to use the likes of Granit Xhaka at the heart of defence this term.

To make matters worse, Hector Bellerin was taken off on a stretcher with a nasty-looking knee injury.

But now, Arsenal supporters are adamant Umtiti will be on the way to solve their back-four woes - to team up with the resurgent Laurent Koscielny.

Umtiti himself has been out of action since November with a knee injury - and opted to head to London yesterday... in the middle of the transfer window.

The stunt set Gooners' tongues wagging, as fans hope he's on his way to shore up their leaky defence, despite him having recently signed a new contract until 2023.

One US fan wrote: "I would swim to London and give Rob Holding and Hector Bellerin both my legs if it meant we could sign him."

Another added: "Arsenal kept a clean sheet just because El Muro was in the stands. What a man!"
