, Gunners staff are concerned the damage is to Bellerin's anterior cruciate ligament which could end his season.

Arsenal's right-back has only recently returned from a calf problem but may be back on the sidelines for a significant period.

Unai Emery had hoped to discover the extent of the injury by Sunday but the club had to wait for the injury to settle before carrying out a definitive MRI scan.

Gunners chief said Saturday: "We have to wait. We will learn Sunday or Monday, but the first impression is not positive.
