CHELSEA moved a step closer to capturing Gonzalo Higuain after AC Milan closed in on a £30.9million deal for Krysztof Piatek, according to reports.
Argentinian striker Higuain has been Maurizio Sarri's top target this winter and was left out of Milan's squad to face Genoa on Monday.
But the Italian giants needed to arrange a replacement for the 31-year-old which would finally present Higuain with a path to West London.
And, according to the , Milan are close to finalising a deal with Genoa for Polish striker Piatek.
It comes just days after boss Gennaro Gattuso had slammed Higuain's performance in training as "one of the worst" he had seen.
But Blues boss Sarri is keen on a reunion with the goal-scorer who he worked with at Napoli.
