Huddersfield to confirm Jan Siewert as new boss in next 24 hours to replace David Wagner
The Terriers are without a win in ten games and sit rock bottom of the Premier League table following the loss against Manchester City
HUDDERSFIELD are poised to confirm Jan Siewert as their new manager in the next 24 hours.
The Terriers have agreed a deal with Borussia Dortmund to bring their reserve team chief to the John Smith's Stadium.
And it is expected he will take over from his countryman David Wagner in West Yorkshire by the middle of the week.
Huddersfield chairman Dean Hoyle is believed to have moved quickly to approach Siewert, 36, after parting company with the ex-boss early last week.
He is convinced the highly-rated young coach can build on the foundations laid by Wagner during his three-and-a-half years at the club.
The Town players have been given two days off following their 3-0 defeat to Manchester City on Sunday - which extended their winless run to ten matches.
However they return to training on Wednesday - by which time Siewert is expected to be ready to take charge.
His first game will be the home clash against Everton on January 29.
A compensation package - reported in Germany to be around £265,000 - has been agreed between Huddersfield and Dortmund.
He has been in charge of the Bundesliga club's B team since July 201 and has previously worked with the Germany youth teams and at Bochum.

Siewert is expected to bring his own backroom team to Yorkshire with him - allowing caretaker boss Mark Hudson stepping back down to his role as Under-23s boss.
Hoyle said on Sunday: "Like any good business or club we have succession plans and we know the direction that we want to go with our next appointment.
";Our aim is to move quickly and decisively in time for the remainder of our Premier League fixtures."
