LAURENT KOSCIELNY has been taken to hospital with a suspected broken jaw after Romelu Lukaku booted him in the head.

The France international, who has not long returned from a lengthy spell out injured, appeared to be kicked in the side of the skull by the Belgian — albeit accidentally.

The collision did appear non-intentional but Koscielny was down for several minutes and boss Unai Emery confirmed he has been taken for scans.

Koscielny appeared to feel his jaw as he was taken off after 63 minutes and replaced by Mesut Ozil.

The game was delayed for so long, 10 minutes of injury time was added at the end of the second half.

Emery said: "I think they weren't big injuries for Sokratis.

"Maybe Laurent Koscielny is going to hospital to [analyse] what injury he has.

"Maybe he's broken [his cheek or jaw] but I hope not."

The North London side were earlier given an injury headache as Sokratis limped off after appearing to roll his ankle.

That, adding to Hector Bellerin's long-term knee injury, could give Unai Emery a defensive crisis.

Former Gunners star Alexis Sanchez gave the visitors the lead in the FA Cup fourth round tie, two minutes before Jesse Lingard doubled United's lead.

Lukaku had a big hand in both goals, grabbing assists as he connected brilliantly with his fellow attackers in blue.

Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang gave Arsenal hope as he tapped in Aaron Ramsey's ball across goal.

But United had the last laugh as Paul Pogba's long-range drive was parried by Petr Cech straight into the path of sub Anthony Martial, who made it 3-1.
