Accrington boss John Coleman admitted to being left feeling "physically sick" by Daniel Barlaser's dismissal in the FA Cup defeat to Derby.
The midfielder saw red on 59 minutes for a second bookable offence following a lunge on David Nugent.
Frank Lampard's side made their temporary numerical advantage count with Martin Waghorn firing home with 12 minutes left to send the Rams through to round five.
Derby did end the game with 10 themselves as Jayden Bogle saw red after dragging back Paul Smyth as Accrington threatened a leveller.
But Coleman admitted the decision to send off Barlaser swung the tie in County's favour.
He told BT Sport: “I feel physically sick to be honest.

"I'm rapidly falling out of love with football at the moment.
"I just wonder what's the point anymore? Every week we get stiffed by another horrendous decision and today's no difference.
“The sending off, which isn't a sending off, he's made two tackles in a game.
"It's not a dangerous tackle.
Referencing Karlan Grant's late penalty and the sending off of goalkeeper Jonny Maxted against Charlton last weekend, Coleman added: “Unfortunately, two weeks running we have a horrendous decision that goes against us.
"We are getting this every week and I feel like packing in to be honest.
“Good luck to Derby, I hope they go on and win it.
"I can't see it like but we didn't deserve to lose.
"To lose the way we have today and to lose the way we did last week, and about 10 times this season is heartbreaking.”
Referee Jon Moss was labelled a "clown" after the Premier League official showed a red to Barlaser just prior to the hour mark.
The League One side were looking to shock Lampard's team at the Wham Stadium - but those ambitions were dealt a seismic blow.
Howard Cover wrote on Twitter: "Well done there Jon Moss, ya big fat head. Ruined another game with a red card that most refs wouldn’t have given... #Clown."
Eve Ralph added: "Barlaser going in for a risky tackle/foul in the centre circle whilst on a yellow, consequently getting the calmest red card of all time."
Greg Ford echoed the disappointment, saying: "That wasn’t a red card....harsh for Stanley!"
Newcastle loanee Barlaser, 22, was clearly disappointed upon being given his marching orders, and had to be consoled after returning to the Accrington dressing room.
BT Sport cameras captured footage of the former Crewe man being supported by two members of the Stanley backroom team.
Kit man Naz Ali was among those with Barlaser as Coleman's side were forced to battle valiantly with 10 men, but to no avail.
