Inter Milan reject Arsenal’s loan bid for Ivan Perisic with view to permanent transfer

The Serie A side are understood to be only seeking a permanent move, with Luciano Spalletti open for the player to leave

ARSENAL have reportedly had a loan offer for Ivan Perisic turned down by Inter Milan.

The Gunners are desperate to nab a winger before the end of the window, with Unai Emery identifying the Croatian ace as the man to add width to his side.

But according to Sky in Italy, the North London club have been unsuccessful in their pursuit to sign the 29-year-old.

They claim that Arsenal offered £4.4million to take him on loan until the end of the season, with the option of turning the deal permanent in the summer for £34.5m.

Inter - who have named Perisic among the substitutes for today's clash against Torino - are seeking a permanent transfer for the ex-Borussia Dortmund star.

It is believed that the club want to raise funds in order to make a move for Perisic's compatriot Luka Modric.

The World Cup runner-up has featured in 18 out of Inter's 20 Serie A games this season - chipping in with a modest three goals and two assists.

It has been reported that Arsenal are willing to offer Perisic £250,000-a-week at the Emirates, making him the second highest earner at the club.

Inter boss Luciano Spalletti opened the door for the one-time Bundesliga winner to depart the San Siro.

He said: "Perisic is a very good player, of course there's rumours about him during the transfer window.

"If a player is good, it's obvious that every club would want him.

"Of course, then the figures must be adequate for things to go through

"He knows his job and he also knows that we expect him to keep working just like he has done so far."
