JAN THE PLAN

Cardiff plot last-ditch transfer for Spurs flop Janssen to solve striker crisis

NEIL WARNOCK is ready to make a dramatic deadline-day move Vincent Janssen.

The Cardiff boss wants to bolster his attack for the Premier League relegation battle and has rivalled Real Betis for the Tottenham striker.

Betis looked in pole position to take Janssen, 24, to Spain after talks opened on a six-month loan with an option to buy for £15million.

But Warnock is willing to match the cash offer and boost his attack following the disappearance of the flight taking Emiliano Sala to the club.

Cardiff spent months working on the Sala deal - and finding a replacement in the aftermath was not their priority.

Janssen’s available has come late in the window as the Dutchman looks for a regular football.

He has recovered from a foot injury suffered early in the season and can join up with Warnock’s squad immediately.

Earlier this month Mauricio Pochettino confirmed that £17m buy Janssen had no future - despite Harry Kane's injury.

Poch said: "It’s so clear that now it’s one year and a half that he’s not in our plans.

"He’s not in Tottenham’s plans, the player. That’s so clear. Not in just the manager’s plans but the club’s plan.

"Eighteen months ago we took the decision for him to try to find a different place to play because for different reasons it didn’t work.

"The relationship between the player and the club doesn’t work. You need to find the best solution."
