EDDIE HOWE has been dealt a blow with David Brooks missing up to FIVE WEEKS with an ankle injury.

The Bournemouth star, 21, picked up the problem during their stunning 4-0 win against Chelsea on Wednesday night.

Midfielder Brooks shone against the Blues and was among the goalscorers.

Physios had to wait for the swelling to go down before fully assessing the injury.

But it now looks like he will miss a month to five weeks of action — starting with today’s Premier League trip to Cardiff.

The Wales international has been in top form, yet now faces being sidelined for crunch clashes against Liverpool, Wolves and Arsenal.

Brooks joined Bournemouth from Sheffield United for just £11million last summer.

And he has been a smash hit on the south coast, bagging six goals and four assists in the Premier League.

Boss Howe is already without Jefferson Lerma, who has an ankle problem, though he should only miss a couple of weeks.

England striker Callum Wilson is also sidelined after a minor operation to clean out his knee.
