Wolves add to Marco Silva misery after thumping Everton to cement seventh spot

WOLVES piled the pressure on under-fire Everton boss Marco Silva with a convincing win at Goodison Park.
After being humiliated by Millwall in the FA Cup last weekend, the Toffees came unstuck again meaning they have now lost eight of their last 11 games.

Silva has spent big but his players are simply failing to perform, as they were outclassed by Wolves — despite having the majority of possession.
In fact, the black cat that found its way onto the pitch midway through the second-half looked sharper than some of Silva's flops.
Wolves made a confident start and silenced the home fans with a seventh-minute opener from the penalty spot.
Leighton Baines made a horrible mess of his challenge on Matt Doherty and clipped the Wolves defender.

Referee Lee Mason didn't hesitate to point to the penalty spot and there were no complaints from Everton's players.

Ruben Neves stepped up to take the kick and dispatched it into the bottom right corner, with Jordan Pickford diving the wrong way.
Diogo Jota should have doubled Wolves' lead just six minutes later when he was picked out by Conor Coady but the striker's first touch was poor and Pickford could gather up the through ball.
A mistake from Everton's Tom Davies then let in Leander Dendoncker but his effort was at Pickford as Wolves continued to threaten.

But they were caught out by a stunner from Andre Gomes, who pulled Everton level.

The midfielder was teed up by Cenk Tosun but slammed past Rui Patricio from the edge of the box.
However, Wolves went back in front just before the break as Everton's defence crumbled once again.
Michael Keane made a poor challenge on Jota, which earned him a booking and, from the resulting free-kick, Raul Jimenez headed past Pickford.

It was an excellent finish from a wonderful floated pass from Joao Moutinho however, as Everton's defence failed to pick-up the on-loan Benfica striker.

And the defence were all at sea again as Dendoncker thumped in a third for Wolves.
Jota's initial shot was blocked by Kurt Zouma yet no-one in blue reacted to the rebound and Dendoncker simply whacked it past Pickford.
Everton pressed for a way back but they lacked any real threat in the final third, while Wolves always threatened on the counter-attack.
