MANCHESTER UNITED are in advanced talks with Ander Herrera over a contract extension.

Long-serving Ashley Young also agreed a new one-year deal — believed to be worth around £110,000 a week.

Herrera’s future became a priority after his revival under interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

His deal expires in the summer but Herrera, 29, hinted at the weekend he will commit to Old Trafford for the right offer.

The former Athletic Bilbao midfielder said: “I focus on Saturday’s game at Fulham.

“If I deserve a contract I’ll get it. I feel in form.”

Herrera is not a top earner at United, understood to be on around £75,000 a week.

But his link-up with Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic in the middle has been pivotal to their revival.

Talks are believed to be going well and full-back Young, 33, is ready to extend his eight-year stay until 2020.

Forward Anthony Martial committed last week, while Chris Smalling did the same before Christmas.

United sources also say Marcus Rashford is in talks over a new deal.

But Phil Jones, Juan Mata and Antonio Valencia are yet to seal extensions despite their deals being up in the summer.

Solskjaer is considering a SECOND warm-weather break as United prepare for a top-four battle.

The United interim boss took his squad to Dubai last month and has left three days free after the FA Cup clash against Chelsea on February 18.
