Mauro Icardi joined by wife Wanda in the stands as they watch Inter amid striker’s contract stand-off
Argentine has demanded the San Siro side publicly apologise to him for stripping him of the captaincy or he will quit
MAURO ICARDI was joined by his wife - and agent - Wanda in the stands as they watched Inter Milan take on Sampdoria amid the striker's contract stand-off.
The Argentine star, 25, has demanded the San Siro side publicly apologise to him for stripping him of the captaincy or he will quit the club altogether.
Yesterday, Wanda had her car window "smashed by a rock" as the soap opera that is their current situation turned violent.
Last might, she took to Twitter to share two completely different tweets - one depicting Icardi in tears on the pitch and the other him celebrating with a kiss for his wife.
And earlier today, Wanda followed those posts up with one saying, "Forza Inter", ahead of this evening's Serie A game.
The pair looked perfectly happy in the stands as the game took place - with the striker even giving a thumbs-up for the cameras.
The Argentina international was replaced as club skipper by Samir Handanovic mid-week and subsequently withdrew from the Europa League trip to Rapid Vienna.
The ex-Barcelona youth product wants to stage a press conference with manager Luciano Spaletti and chief executive Beppa Marotta to clarify the situation.
Inter are adamant they do not want to sell the forward - who has been linked with Chelsea and Real Madrid.
However, Icardi is convinced the reason for him being replaced is captain is due to Inter having already decided to offload him in the summer.
Last month, Wanda confirmed no offer had been made by the San Siro club and that the striker was "far away" from agreeing fresh terms.
The San Siro club claim there is no link between the decision to strip Icardi of the armband and the current contract standoff.
When all is said and done, with 122 goals in 210 games for Inter, there will be no shortage of suitors if Inter do decide to sell their prized asset.
