KRIS BOYD was hit by a coin from the Celtic end during today’s clash at Rugby Park.
The Kilmarnock striker was warming up in front of the away supporters during the first-half when TV cameras caught footage of a missile hitting the 35-year-old on the arm.
"Absolutely no place for it. It's disgusting."
Former Celtic star Kris Commons also slammed the supporter involved.
He said: "This isn't an isolated incident.
"This has happened at Livingston, St Mirren, Tynecastle. It needs stamped out very, very quickly."
SunSport columnist Michael Stewart and Steven Thompson also slammed the coin throwing with both branding it 'completely unacceptable'.
Speaking on Sportscene, Thompson said: “There is no place for it.
“Kris has very strong opinions as a pundit and person but that doesn’t mean if you don’t agree with him you are allowed to throw a coin at him.
“It is completely and utterly unacceptable.”
Stewart added: “There was a spate of it earlier on in the season and thankfully it disappeared a little bit.
"It came back there. We want to get it stamped out as quickly as possible.
“As Thommo said there it is completely unacceptable.”
