SunSport columnist Michael Stewart and Steven Thompson also slammed the coin throwing with both branding it 'completely unacceptable'.
Speaking on Sportscene, Thompson said: “There is no place for it.
“Kris has very strong opinions as a pundit and person but that doesn’t mean if you don’t agree with him you are allowed to throw a coin at him.
“It is completely and utterly unacceptable.”
Stewart added: “There was a spate of it earlier on in the season and thankfully it disappeared a little bit.
"It came back there. We want to get it stamped out as quickly as possible.
“As Thommo said there it is completely unacceptable.”
