CHELSEA can sack Maurizio Sarri for £5million - the cheapest pay-off in the Roman Abramovich era.
The Italian is on the brink of being axed following last night's 2-0 FA Cup defeat to Manchester United.
Sarri, 60, is under contract until 2021 but Chelsea's policy means he would walk away with just one year's salary.
His severance package would see the former banker cash in £5m while his backroom staff would receive £1m compensation.
No2 Gianfranco Zola, who earns more than his fellow coaching staff, would be expected to take home more.
Trigger-happy Blues owner Abramovich has dismissed nine managers since taking over Chelsea in 2003.
And has exposed Chelsea as having spent the most on wages at over £2.6BILLION.
Jose Mourinho's first sacking in 2007 remains the costliest at £18MILLION.
Whereas giving his successor, Avram Grant, the boot the following year set the club back £5.5m.
Abramovich has come under increasing pressure to sack Sarri.
Zinedine Zidane wants the Chelsea manager job - but only if they can match his terms and ambition.
But former Napoli boss Sarri insists he is not worried about his position.
He said: "We were unlucky. We played a very good first half. We played confusing football in the second half.
"I feel pressure for results of course, not about something else.
"We have to work, to speak, we have to find more aggression and determination in both boxes."
