Rashford lowest paid Man Utd player on £767 per minute while flop Sanchez banks over £15k
MARCUS RASHFORD is costing Manchester United just £767 per minute this season – compared to Alexis Sanchez at nearly £16,000-a-minute.
The England forward, 21, is amongst the lowest-paid stars in the Premier League in terms of wage compared to minutes played.
According to research from , Rashford earns £45,000 per week and has racked up an astonishing 1,525 minutes of league action.
The United ace has made 22 appearances in the league this season, scoring nine goals and has been resurgent under interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Unlike Rashford, one man who has not seen a sudden upturn in form under the Norwegian is Sanchez.
The Chilean, 30, has scored just once in 14 Prem games this term – despite his astronomical £505,000-a-week wages.
Premier League earnings: Winners and losers
Highest paid per-minute:
Pape Souare – £630,000 (£30,000 a week, played 1 minute)
Scott Dann – £480,000 (£60,000 a week, played 1 minute )
Georges-Kevin Nkoudou – £218,750 (£35,000 a week, played 4 minutes)
Gary Cahill – £123,810 (£100,000 a week, played 21 minutes)
Davide Zappacosta – £101,111 (£70,000 a week, played 18 minutes)
Lowest paid per-minute:
Declan Rice – £38 (£3,000 a week, played 2,026 minutes)
Denis Odoi – £109 (£8,900 a week, played 2,115 minutes)
Matt Doherty – £117 (£10,000 a week, played 2,219 minutes)
Ryan Sessegnon – £142 (£8,000 a week, played 1,462 minutes)
Sol Bamba – £162 (£14,000 a week, played 2,250 minutes)
When all is said and done, Sanchez is being paid £15,601 per minute of action.
Despite that, the former Arsenal ace is nowhere near the best reimbursed star in the top flight.
Crystal Palace star Pape Souare has earned £630,000 per minute, having played just ONE minute this season on his £30,000-a-week wages.
Scott Dann has earned £480,000 for his sole minute in the league this season – while Georges-Kevin Nkoudou has raked in £218,750 per minute at Tottenham.
At least they have played some football, though – unlike Danny Drinkwater who’s earned £2million this season, despite not playing a single minute.
Nine other Prem stars have broken the £1m-barrier through not playing either, including Eliaquim Mangala and Simon Mignolet.
At the other end of the scale, Rashford is still somehow nowhere near the lowest-earners.
In fact, West Ham ace Declan Rice – who recently swapped his international allegiance from Ireland to England – tops that list.
Earning just £3,000 per week and having played 2,026 Prem minutes in 2018-19, Rice is technically earning just £38-a-minute.
Denis Odoi has earned £109 for each of his 2,215 minutes played, while five other players including Ryan Sessegnon and Aaron Wan-Bissaka earn under £200 per minute.
