STOKE CITY have held discussions with Saido Berahino's representatives over his drink-drive shame amid rumours the striker will be sacked.
Berahino, 25, was charged by police on Tuesday after SunSport exclusively revealed he had been arrested outside London's VQ restaurant in the early hours of Monday morning.
After cops stopped his car, the former England U21 striker told police he'd been attempting to flee from a gang who wanted to steal his car.
Berahino also claimed the group of men had stolen his watch.
And SunSport understands Stoke had their first opportunity at hearing how events unfolded today as they met with Berahino's representatives.
The meeting comes amid reports Stoke are exploring the possibility of sacking the ex-West Brom man.
According to the , Berahino has been exiled from Nathan Jones' first-team squad and the Championship club is discussing their next move with lawyers.
Stoke are exploring whether Berahino's behaviour can be considered as gross misconduct.
His current deal runs until 2022 and totals £6million in wages, but the Potters are considering making him a free agent.
Stoke were particularly infuriated with Berahino after he'd called in sick to miss training before last Saturday's game against Ipswich and was due to feature for the U23s against Man United on Monday.
