Celtic fans unfurl banner calling Rodgers a ‘fraud’ after he left for Leicester
Rodgers stunned the Hoops faithful yesterday by leaving Parkhead - while on the verge of an unprecedented treble Treble - for Leicester City
CELTIC fans have slaughtered Brendan Rodgers with a no-holds-barred banner at Tynecastle.
The Hoops face Hearts in the capital tonight, with interim gaffer Neil Lennon in the dugout following Rodgers’ shock move to Leicester.
And the Celts faithful in the away end wasted no time in taking aim at their former manager.
The banner read: "You traded immortality for mediocrity. Never a Celt. Always a Fraud."
Ex-Rangers star Neil McCann - on punditry for Sky Sports - said: "The guy won seven trophies at Celtic.
"It’s a bit harsh, but I suppose that’s football."
Despite Lennon's presence on the sidelines, the ex-Leicester City midfielder did not pick the side.
Coach John Kennedy was handed that task, but Lennon declined the opportunity to watch from stands despite only taking charge earlier today.
'DISGRACE TO ALL FANS' Celtic and Rangers fans unite to condemn ‘disgraceful’ tweets from trolls urging Brendan Rodgers to take helicopter to Leicester in reference to owner’s crash tragedy
And the 47-year-old immediately set his sights on guiding the Hoops to a seventh straight title.
He said: "The board have put the faith in me to see out the season.
