NEW Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers will reportedly go back to the Scottish Premiership to land a new signing this summer – but not from his old club Celtic.
The Irishman is reported to be interested in Rangers’ striker Alfredo Morelos as he looks to turn the Foxes back into a side that can threaten the top six.
That’s sure to go down badly with fans of Celtic’s great rivals, but Rodgers believes the young Colombian would be a great strike partner for Jamie Vardy.
Morelos has become a firm favourite among Rangers supporters with swashbuckling displays that have brought him 46 goals in just 83 appearances in all competitions.
But it now looks likely that he’ll be playing elsewhere next season after comments he made on Colombian radio last week.
He told reporters: “There are many teams interested in me and a lot of them have watched me play. Most likely my transfer will be this summer.”

He added: “I have always said I would like to play in the English Premier League.”
Rodgers has also reportedly expressed interest in Fenerbahce’s Macedonian midfielder Elif Elmas.
The teenager has impressed since breaking into the Turkish side’s first team last season, and has already been capped eight times by his national side despite not turning 20 until this September.
There’s already considerable interest in the young star from some of Europe’s elites, but Rodgers may be able to tempt him with the promise of guaranteed first-team football.
The former Liverpool boss surprised many by leaving Celtic mid-season, with the club still challenging for a second consecutive domestic treble.
He took charge of Leicester for the first time today as the Foxes slipped to a 2-1 defeat at Watford, but insisted he had "loved every minute" in his new role.
