And he confirmed his Celtic medals were stolen in the raid during the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Rodgers said: "It's not nice for my family to go through, it gave the girls a fright.

"It is sad for someone to come into their rooms while they were sleeping. Horrendous. Burglars entered the room with my daughter there.

"You never want it to happen. When I got the call early hours, you want to make sure people are fine. They are both safe and fine."

Rodgers was sleeping in his Leicester apartment at the time and took Foxes training the following morning.

The ex-Liverpool manager also said his family will move down as quickly as possible to be with him.

He said: "We are looking to buy a home here.

"They'll be moved down very soon and we'll throw our life into here. They'll be down here that bit quicker.

"The last ten days there has been a lot said about my move. I don't want to detract from the amazing time I had in Glasgow.

"We will not let this or the reaction over the last ten days cloud any of that. We have dealt with that."
