The Frenchman decided to step down after a bleak final decade at the club which saw him lift just three FA Cups and zero Premier League titles.

Emery appears to have steadied the ship, with Arsenal firmly in the race for a top four finish.

But it’s results against other top sides which have drastically improved.

Last season Arsenal picked up just six points in ten games against Chelsea, Spurs, Liverpool and the two Manchester sides.

But Emery has landed 12 points against them this term, and Koscielny believes it’s proof that fortunes have changed at the Emirates.

The French centre-back said: “Our record against the other big six teams this season is positive.

“We have won 12 points compared to six last season. It shows how we are approaching those games differently.

“It’s not just about attacking. We are more intelligent, we are more measured in our plans/

“We can change tactics halfway through a game, we can set up differently.

“The manager is using different formations and it shows his flexibility and the players’ too which is a good thing.

“Of course, we still need to do better away from home in the big games but we are on the right path.”
