ARSENAL boss Unai Emery went on a Spanish scouting mission to check out Getafe star Djene Dakonam, according to reports.
The Gunners boss was in the stands at his former club Valencia on Sunday where Getafe drew 0-0 at the Mestalla.
The Spaniard ran the rule over the 27-year-old centre-back who was on his radar when he took over at the Emirates last summer, claim .
Emery was impressed with the Togo international but will have to meet his £30million release clause if he is to bolster Arsenal's leaky defence.
The defender is still under contract until 2021, so Getafe can stick to their valuation of the defender with no real pressure to cash-in at the end of the season.
Djene arrived at Getafe in 2017 from Belgian side Sint-Truidense and has been a mainstay in the first-term ever since.
The centre-back made 36 La Liga starts last season and 26 so far this campaign.
Getafe are defying the odds and are enjoying a superb season, currently sitting fourth in La Liga.
