Bournemouth lead transfer race for Chelsea starlet Mason Mount on loan next season

EDDIE HOWE will lead the race to land Mason Mount on loan next season.

The Bournemouth boss is set to target Mount, 20, and offer Premier League football following his spell at Derby.

Mount still has the chance of promotion from the Championship through the play-offs.

But top-flight clubs will pounce for him if he misses out.

Howe is among those who admire the Chelsea midfielder, whose form this season earned an England call-up.

Bournemouth have been short on cover in central midfield following Lewis Cook’s long-term knee injury.

And they have been hit further in recent weeks with Andrew Surman struggling with a calf problem recently.

Mount is expected to make the step up to the Prem next season.

And he will continue to look for regular football.

But Chelsea could keep him if they are in they fail to make the Champions League as the Europa League has been used to field their youngsters.

And if any potential transfer ban is confirmed after appeal then he may find even more opportunities at Stamford Bridge.
