Barcelona 2019-20 home kit leaked – and they’ve ditched the famous stripes
Fans are not impressed Nike have gone for a Croatia-inspired chequerboard look
BARCELONA'S home kit for next season has been leaked online - but fans aren't happy.
That's because Nike and Barca have DITCHED the club's famous vertical stripes.
Instead, they've gone for a Croatia-inspired chequerboard design.
It is the first time in history the club have gone for the look, although not the first time Barca have ditched the stripes.
In recent years, the club have had horizontal stripes, half-and-half kits and racing lines down the middle.
Next year's kit also features solid blue shoulders and a Catalan flag on the neck area - in keeping with Nike's newest template.
The shorts will be plain blue with a gold Nike swoosh, while the socks are also expected to have a chequered look.
Available from May, the kit could have looked even more different that usual if president Josep Maria Bartomeu had his way.
Bartomeu wanted to change the club badge, removing the 'FCB' lettering, as well as altering the colour scheme and removing some black bordering.
However, the move was blocked by the rest of the board for at least the coming season.
'RAKITIC WILL APPROVE'
Fans on social media were clearly not impressed with the new look - although some joked that one player would be loving it.
M.Rashdan wrote: "Rakitic approved."
CulesClub added: "I think Barca really want Rakitic to stay."
Despaolo simply put: "Why."
Guy wrote: "It sucks" and Mr23 agreed, adding: "Not feeling it either."
NeotericMan said: "Oh hell no."
Lab Mehmet added: "Worst ever."

There were a couple of fans, however, with Kofi Citizen writing: "Nice" and Yun stating: "At first I didn't like it, but looking nice now."
Barcelona's away kit was also leaked last month.
The yellow kit will feature a blue and red sash - a nod to the famous kit worn by Johan Cruyff in the 1970s.
