OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER has reportedly given the go-ahead for Manchester United to renew their £65million pursuit for Harry Maguire.
The Norwegian boss is keen to build his defence around the 26-year-old after they failed to sign him from Leicester last summer.
According to the , Solskjaer has urged the Old Trafford chiefs to complete a deal for Maguire this time around.
United were linked to the former Sheffield United star following his exploits for England at the World Cup in Russia.
But the Reds made it clear that they were not willing to meet Leicester's valuation of the 26-year-old.
And it was understood that he did not want to leave the Foxes just 12 months after he joined from Hull.
It has now been reported that Maguire, who is under contract until 2023, would move on if the right club came along.
The defender would be able to double his wages at Old Trafford in a deal expected to be worth around £140,000-a-week.
Solskjaer is desperate to sign defensive reinforcements after Jose Mourinho missed out on a number of top targets during his time in charge.

He has already planned to offload out of favour defender Marcos Rojo to free up space on the wage bill.
Solskjaer's summer planning is the biggest hint to date that he is set to be offered the job permanently.
The Reds are also allegedly early favourites to sign Antoine Griezmann at the end of the season from Atletico Madrid.
