French defender has refused to deny speculation linking him with an exit as Old Trafford chiefs keep tabs on him
RAPHAEL VARANE has refused to rule out a Real Madrid exit - and Manchester United fans are jubilant.
The World Cup-winning France defender reportedly told Los Blancos team-mates he would leave in the summer.
And when Le Parisien spoke to him on international duty, he said: "I do not want to talk about my future.
"I am not one to discuss my future publicly."
Varane, 25, is believed to want a new challenge after collecting an incredible haul of trophies at the Bernabeu.
One fan simply wrote: "Varane to United. Champion."
While another optimistically added: "Griezzman, Kante, Varane to United this summer. Franchester United to win the prem next year".
However, others questioned if returning Real chief Zinedine Zidane would let his compatriot go.
Varane was asked about working with the tactician, who quit last summer, and was full of praise.
He added: "Nine months is not a long time. It was as if it was yesterday.
