Tottenham join Arsenal in race for Ajax defender Tagliafico as Poch looks for left-back options
Argentine defender has been scouted several times by Spurs this season after managing five goals and five assists in Holland
TOTTENHAM are considering a £15million splash on Ajax defender Nicolas Tagliafico.
The Argentine left-back has been scouted several times by Spurs this season after shining in the Eredivisie with five goals and five assists.
And Ajax are prepared to cash in on the 26-year-old this summer, despite him having two years left on his contract, with Arsenal and Barcelona also interested.
It would give Mauricio Pochettino plenty of options to experiment with at the back, as well as some extra competition for the likes of Ben Davies and Danny Rose.
Tagliafico only joined the Dutch giants last season in a £3.6m move from Independiente.
But he has already established himself as one of the most exciting left-backs in Europe, shining in Ajax’s stunning 4-1 over Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.
Speaking about Spurs’ interest on Friday, Tagliafico said: “It’s great that they talk about me, because that means things are going well.
