Tottenham fans furious as first game sells out in ‘free for all’ that caused huge waits to buy tickets

TOTTENHAM fans were left raging after tickets for the first game sold out as the ticketing system failed.
Supporters claim they were left waiting up to two hours on a holding page only to find out there were no tickets left for them to buy.
A small amount of tickets were available on Tuesday morning after season ticket holders swept up the majority of the allocation on Monday.
The £850million, 62,000-seat Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will host its first Premier League game against Crystal Palace on April 3 and fans have been desperate to get in.
But fans hoping to see the game were made to wait in a queue on the website - before being told that tickets had sold out.
Members also complained that those with fewer loyalty points were able to buy tickets ahead of those who had followed the club through thick and thin in recent years.
Tickets are already being sold at extortionate prices on resale websites, with some going for more than £1,000.
FAN ANGER
Many took to social media to vent their anger.
Ian Mitchell wrote: "Tottenham fans wait almost 2 yrs for the first game at the amazing new stadium.
";But the club sells tickets in a free-for-all where those that signed up yesterday have the same chance as members of over 20 years like me. No ticket, gutted."
Stu_M11 added: "System is a farce. Over 2 hrs wasted this morning!!
"Managed to get on about 0930 for it to kick me out back to please wait screen. Sat at about 5% remaining on the wheel for an hour and a half. Shambles."
Keano FI posted an image of the queuing system and branded the website "a joke".
Tom_Hide said: "It's disgusting. What time do you need to log on to get a ticket!"
"Another day, another Tottenham Hotspur ticket sale. Yet today they’ll be 150,000+ of us going for a mere 6000(ish) tickets. This is going to get very annoying, very quickly...," said Toby Bilton.
Con_Lancs was left "fuming" that those on cheaper membership packages were getting tickets in front of him.
He told Spurs: "Pointless, devalued membership. Will it be like this for all games moving forwards!?"
Match tickets on resale sites like Stubhub are now selling for more than £1,000.
Spurs are aware of some people trying to sell on their tickets for the first game at a huge profit and have warned of severe action.

Tottenham have advised against the use of resale websites, saying in a statement on their website above a list of webpages: "All the websites below are unauthorised sellers and SHOULD NOT BE USED to purchase any ticket to Tottenham Hotspur matches.
"Supporters will pay well above the original price for the tickets and you could be refused entry to the stadium or ejected.
"Many tickets sold by unauthorised agencies or by touts have been obtained unofficially and are therefore invalid."
