Red Devils goalkeeper - who will become a free agent in 2020 - is holding out for deal comparable with Sanchez
MANCHESTER UNITED'S failure to find a buyer for flop Alexis Sanchez could lead to David De Gea departing Old Trafford.
The Spanish shot-stopper - who has won the club's player of the season award on four occasions - will have just one year remaining on his contract in the summer.
According to the , the 28-year-old is seeking a contract comparable with £505,000-a-week Sanchez.
But it is understood that the Red Devils will offer no more than £350k a week to keep De Gea at the club.

This could prove to be a stumbling block in negotiations with fans fearful he could leave at the end of the campaign.
Real Madrid are reportedly preparing another bid for De Gea following their failed approach in 2015, and with Thibaut Courtois flattering to deceive at the Bernbaeu.
Sanchez has been a huge disappointment for United since joining from Arsenal last year in a swap deal for Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
The Standard have claimed that there has been no interest from Chinese clubs in the two-time FA Cup winner, while a swap deal has been ruled out.
