CHELSEA could bring back Tiemoue Bakayoko in the summer if their transfer ban still stands.

It is understood that AC Milan are not willing to pay the £32.5 million fee to sign him permanently at the end of the season.

With a two-window transfer ban looming, Chelsea could recall him to bolster their midfield for the 2019-20 campaign.

Milan have no intention of offloading Bakayoko this summer as he has become a regular in Gennaro Gattuso's first-team.

The one-cap France international has made 33 appearances in all competitions for the Italian side this season.

Milan are set to propose a cut-price deal for the 24-year-old, but the Blues are not expected to entertain any offers.

Bakayoko revealed that he felt like Chelsea "didn't want him anymore" after he joined from Monaco for £40m.

'I'M VERY HAPPY HERE'

He admitted last month that he is happy at the San Siro and is desperate to guide the club into the Champions League.

The Frenchman said: "I'm doing everything for the Champions League.

"It's been five years since the Milan fans have heard the Champions League anthem and I want to be there the next it sounds in the San Siro.

"I'm having a good season, I'm very grateful to Milan. I'm very happy here, although at first, I was criticised.

"But it's normal, they expected more, it's no problem."
