MANCHESTER UNITED fans' song about their new manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer came back to haunt them on social media.

The Norwegian was named Man Utd manager on a three-year deal after an impressive interim spell since replacing Jose Mourinho.

Solskjaer's strong start in charge led to Old Trafford fans seranading him with a chant titled "Ole's at the wheel".

Manchester United even used that as a hashtag when they announced their 1999 Champions League hero had got the job full-time.

But Solskjaer's United revival hit a road block on Tuesday night at Wolves as they were beaten 2-1.

And, inevitably, that led to some jokes at the Norwegian's expense on social media.

"Ole's at the wheel" was being used by rival fans, along with accompanying GIFs and memes of cars crashing.

Solskjaer admitted the setback at Molineux left his team facing an uphill battle to seal a top-four place.

Manchester United are fifth in the Premier League, level on points with fourth-placed Spurs having played a game more.

Solskjaer said: "We needed 15 points from seven games, now it is 15 from six - we don't have room for many losses.

"It is harder than it was before, but we're a very good team, so it will be difficult for the teams who play against us."

Man Utd fans will be hoping Solskjaer can steer them into Europe next season and get back on the right road.
