Celtic fans mock Rangers gaffer Steven Gerrard with ‘Get well soon’ banner

CELTIC fans have taken a pop at Rangers boss Steven Gerrard with a ‘Get Well Soon Stevie G’ banner.

It comes after a week of controversy following last Sunday's Old Firm game.

Gerrard and rival Neil Lennon are embroiled in a war of words over several flashpoints from the derby showdown, including Ryan Kent's Scott Brown punch.

Lennon slammed the Liverpool legend's take on Kent's actions and .

He said: “I have a lot of respect for Steven, but I haven’t agreed with anything he’s said this week, other than we’re the best team in the country.

“Apart from that, I disagree with 90 per cent of what he’s spoken about since the game.

“The only grain of truth which has come out of there this week is that Rangers played the best team in Scotland.

"It was the only semblance of rationality."

striker Alfredo Morelos was red carded in the first-half for an elbow at Brown while on-loan Anfield ace Kent has been given a two-match ban for decking Brown.

Kent will miss this weekend's trip to Fir Park and the first game after the split.

He scored the equaliser for Steven Gerrard's men as they came close to sealing a draw at Parkhead.

However, after James Forrest scored the winner for the home side Kent got involved in an incident with Brown.

Gerrard was handed a one-match suspension for comments made to ref Bobby Madden after the derby, while Brown faces an SFA hearing next month for his post-match celebrations.

Both clubs have been charged over a brawl at full-time.
