Lewandowski reaches 200 Bundesliga goals to humiliate his former club as Munich top the table
The Polish striker netted a brace against Lucien Favre's side alongside strikes from Hummels, Martinez, and Gnabry
ROBERT LEWANDOWSKI surpassed 200 Bundesliga goals as Bayern Munich stunned title-rivals Borussia Dortmund with a comprehensive 5-0 win to top the table.
Niko Kovac's side were nine points adrift of their rivals in November but now sit above them thanks to goals from Mats Hummels, Javi Martinez, Serge Gnabry and the Pole.
The German champions romped into a four-goal advantage in the first half before Lewandowksi proceeded to grab his second and Bayern's fifth late on.
The striker, who capitalised on poor defending to net his first at the Allianz Arena, became only the fifth player in Bundesliga history to reach the 200-goal mark and the first foreigner to do so.
The hosts moved up to 64 points with six matches remaining to get back on course for a record-extending seventh straight league crown.
The Bavarians exploded into action in the 100th league edition of Der Klassiker and had scored twice in the opening 17 minutes through two former Dortmund stars.
Dortmund had the perfect chance to shock Bayern within six minutes when Jacob Bruun Larsen and Marco Reus combined to set up Mahmoud Dahoud from 16 yards.
Dahoud was unmarked and had the goal at his mercy, but he could only strike the outside of a post with the returning Manuel Neuer beaten in the Bayern goal.
It was to prove a costly miss as Bayern were ahead within four minutes as former Dortmund defender Hummels headed home Thiago Alcantara's corner.
Lewandowski then reacted quickly to pounce upon Dan-Axel Zagadou's error seven minutes later before lifting the ball over Roman Burki to acrobatically volley home.
The wonderful piece of opportunism took the 30-year-old level with former Bayern favourite Gerd Muller on 14 goals as the highest scorer in this fixture.
Javi Martinez made it three on 41 minutes by sweeping home from the edge of the area after Dortmund had failed to clear their lines.
The visitors were in disarray again just two minutes later as Gnabry met Thomas Muller's cross to score with a powerful downward header.
The second half lacked the intensity of the first period with both sides almost conserving their energies for the crucial games to come.
But Lewandowski had the final word as completed the rout in the 89th minute as Dortmund's long wait for a first league title since 2011 looks set to continue.
