PAUL SCHOLES has opened up about his unsuccessful one-month spell as Oldham boss, which he claims has not put him off management.
The Manchester United legend has revealed he decided to leave when club ownership's interference in his team selection intensified.
Scholes quit crisis-club Oldham after just four weeks in charge, leading the Latics to one win in seven games.
And the former Red Devils midfielder claims the job was demanding due to both on-and-off-pitch issues.
He revealed that the club's facilities were poor as it often went without hot water.
And ahead of a clash against Bury there was no team bus to take the squad to the game.
But Scholes insists he knew "it wouldn't be an ideal job" and enjoyed working with the players nevertheless, hoping he could be the man to change things around.
However, he couldn't cope with the mounting pressure from Oldham owner Abdallah Lemsagam, who once told him not to pick a player for an upcoming game.
Once I get told 'don't play him', that's when it is time for me to go...

And even though Lemsagam later denied the allegations, Scholes claims that was the point he knew he had to leave.
But the United legend says he has "no regrets" over taking the job and the ill-fated Oldham tenure has "not put him off" management.
He told BT Sport: "I had heard loads of stories about interference and stuff. The first three weeks there was little bits.
"Not so much 'leave him out, he can't play, don't play him, play the player I said', there was nothing like that in the first three weeks.
"There were subtle hints, yeah of course, but I'm not stupid enough to not realise what they are trying to do.
"In the last week there was a couple of issues with a couple of players.
"Experienced pros that I felt didn't deserve to be treated the way the club wanted to treat them.

"I didn't need the hassle of that. I really like the players, really respected them and would have done anything for them.

"That only happened once, but that was the end of it. There were subtle hints along the way, but that was the end of it."
