Bitter Marco Verratti claims Man Utd’s Champions League win over PSG was a fluke
Verratti still has not quite got over how his side were dumped out by United in the last 16
MARCO VERRATTI has labelled Manchester United's win over Paris Saint-Germain a "fluke".
United defied the odds in the last 16 of the Champions League when they overcame a 2-0 deficit in the first leg to win through to the quarter-finals after a stunning 3-1 victory at the Parc des Princes.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men have their work cut out this week as they will have to come from behind against Barcelona at the Nou Camp if they are to reach the semi-finals.
But as far as PSG is concerned, Verratti is in no mood to forgive after his side's exit.
Despite dominating Ligue 1, PSG have failed to translate their domestic dominance in Europe and having failed to get past the quarter-final stages of club football's most prestigious competition.
And Verratti reckons United were more than a bit lucky that they dumped his side out.
He said: "Maybe I'm more frustrated than others, but football is like that.
"We can't have everything.
"The fans are disappointed by the elimination.
"I'm confident in this team. This match, if we played it 10 times, we would win nine.
"We must not change much. We have a great coach and some of the best players in the world with Neymar and Kylian."
NEYMAR MISS
Verratti has admitted that he wished Neymar had been fit as it could have been crucial to the tie.
However, he reckons the Brazilian will be back in the fold soon.
He said: "I have the impression that he never stopped.
