RANGERS captain James Tavernier has been subjected to vile racist messages on Instagram.

The Ibrox skipper, 27, revealed he was sent sick "hello black" slurs after sharing screnshots from the troll responsible.

Tavernier posted a screenshot of the private post on his Instagram stories on Wednesday night.

The message read: "Hello black. U r f***ing dog s*** and should be playing for black.

"N***a n***a."

The bemused Gers ace accompanied the screenshot with a shrugging emoji.

It is not known at this time if the message has been passed to Police Scotland.

Rangers have been approached for comment.

We told last year how fellow - being branded a "black p****" in a private message.

The Rangers keeper replied: “Well done Aaron.

“I will share this message with all of Twitter and Instagram.”
