Chelsea’s new home kit for 2019-20 season leaked including bizarre pattern ‘inspired by Stamford Bridge’
The strip for next season appears to show blue socks, rather than the usual white, as well as flashes of red
CHELSEA'S new home kit for the 2019-20 season has been leaked online - and it includes a bizarre pattern "inspired by Stamford Bridge".
The strip for next season appears to show blue socks, rather than the usual white, as well as flashes of red.
There is a little strip of red around the back of the collar - with "CFC" embroidered on to it in white - as well as on the socks.
On the shorts front, it appears to be business as usual - plain blue and featuring both the club crest and Nike swoosh.
The pattern on the jersey itself seems to pay homage to Stamford Bridge's architecture.
Chelsea may well wear the kit at least once this season - as is often the way with new kit launches in recent years.
WATFORD DEBUT?
The Blues have at least five games left to play this season - with three Premier League games and the two-legged Europa League semi-final against Eintracht Frankfurt.
With Chelsea playing away to Leicester on the final day of the season, it's likely the club will debut the new, patterned strip on May 5, in the home game against Watford.
Meanwhile, fans have had their say on the interesting new kit on Twitter.
One supporter said: "I’d be lying if I said I liked it on first look!"
Another simply claimed: "Not a fan."
A third added: "Unpopular opinion. I like blue socks for our home kits, always have.
"Won’t be going into meltdown just because we’re not wearing white socks."
