MANCHESTER UNITED stars were left "baffled" after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took them to the club's former training ground before the defeat by City.
The under-fire Norwegian held a light session at The Cliff on Wednesday in a desperate bid to turn around his team's disastrous run of form.
United have trained at the Carrington base since Sir Alex Ferguson moved them out of The Cliff in 2000.
Solskjaer had hoped the change of scenery would inspire his players after the shocking 4-0 defeat to Everton.

It is reported that the "majority" of United's players did not find the trip down memory lane beneficial before the match.

But Solskjaer wanted his players to have a "reality check" to remind them of their responsibilities of playing for United.
After the defeat by the Toffees, he said: "Most of them have really impressed me in their attitude.
"But there are some that need to get a reality check on where they're at."

The Reds were also forced to change their traditional pre-match preparations because of roadworks in the area.
United usually stay at the Lowry Hotel before big home games, but had to stay at the Hilton instead.
Solskjaer's masterplan did not work and United were thumped 2-0 by Pep Guardiola's men at Old Trafford.
