Emmanuel Adebayor spent six months at Real Madrid and has revealed a bizarre clash between the Portuguese pair

JOSE MOURINHO “killed” Cristiano Ronaldo in the dressing room, despite the Portuguese star bagging a hat-trick, according to Emmanuel Adebayor.

The former Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester City star went on loan to Real Madrid in 2011 while Mourinho was in charge and played alongside CR7.

Adebayor, 35, currently in Turkey with Istanbul Basaksehir, made 22 appearances for Los Blancos - scoring eight goals.

The forward has lifted the lid on his stint in the Spanish capital giving a unique insight into the relationship between Mourinho and the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.

Adebayor told the : “At Real, we were winning 3-0 at half-time.

“[Mourinho] came into the dressing room and went mental. He kicked the fridge, kicked the television, threw water.

“He killed everyone. I remember he once killed Ronaldo after he scored a hat-trick.

“He said, ‘Everyone says you are the best in the world and you are playing badly. Show me you are the best.’"

“Cristiano took it. Ronaldo could score a hat-trick but talk about the one he missed.”

Ronaldo went on to finish that season with 53 goals, but only ended up winning the Copa del Rey.

After being pipped by Barcelona to the La Liga title, the Catalan giants also dumped Mourinho’s men out of the Champions League.

Adebayor was also full of praise for the Juventus forward’s incredible skill and work ethic.

He added: “He trained with us at Real Madrid as though he was training with his kids.

“Passes with his back, control with his neck...

“He once kept the ball for five seconds with one touch! How is that even possible?

“In the gym, wow. Sergio Ramos and I were the strongest.

"But then came Ronaldo saying, ‘You think that's hard?’, we'd do five reps and he'd do 30.”
