Jose Mourinho to Celtic? Paddy Power slash odds on ex-Man United boss being next Hoops manager

There has been flurry of bets on ex-Manchester United boss joining Celts

ODDS on Jose Mourinho to become next Celtic boss have been slashed after a flurry of bets on Sunday.

The former Manchester United boss was 66/1 but has dropped to just 14/1 at Paddy Power.

Mourinho, 56, has been out of work since he was sacked from United in December but is now being linked to a switch to Parkhead.

He has also already been touted to take over at PSG and Bayern Munich as he looks for his next job in management.

Lyon have also invited him to become their new boss - meaning he could sensationally now be set to world alongside old rival Arsene Wenger, who has been tipped to join as general manager.

A Paddy Power spokesperson said: "Jose Mourinho and Celtic may not seem like a natural partnership, but the Bhoys do have recent experience in coaches with humongous egos.

“And, actually, both parties have pretty strong links with Champions League success in Portugal.

“It could be viewed as an odd move for Mourinho but, having linked himself with the jobs at PSG and Bayern, Celtic would fit with apparent approach of targeting one-club leagues.”

Meanwhile, Martin O'Neill has also dropped in the odds-list starting at 80/1 and falling to 7/1 to make a return to Celtic Park.

Neil Lennon is still the favourite for the job as he continues as interim boss, he sits at 11/10 to take on the role permanently.
