Rangers ‘eye loan swoop’ for £18m Watford star Andre Gray

RANGERS are reportedly weighing up a summer loan move for Watford striker Andre Gray.
The hitman joined the Hornets two years ago for a club record £18million after a prolific spell at Burnley.
But the 27-year-old has found himself in and out of Javi Gracia’s team this season.
And the claims Steven Gerrard is plotting an ambitious swoop to bring him to Ibrox.
Gray could be a ready-made replacement for Alfredo Morelos, who looks destined for a big-money summer exit.
That would boost Gerrard’s transfer kitty, although Gray’s reported £70,000-a-week wages could be a stumbling block.
However, after pushing through Jermain Defoe’s stunning loan move in January, Gerrard hopes to convince the board to loosen the purse strings once again as he looks to stop Celtic winning nine in a row.
Kyle Lafferty’s Rangers career appears to be over after a dismal showing against Liverpool Under-23s left Gerrard seething.
The Northern Irishman has struggled to work his way into the first-team reckoning following his move from Hearts.
And Gray's arrival would add welcome firepower to Gerrard's squad.
The Ibrox boss signed Jermain Defoe on an 18-month loan from Bournemouth in January.
