Ozil - who is tied down at the Emirates until 2021 - has started just 19 out of 36 Premier League matches this campaign.

Emery stated earlier on in the campaign that he dropped the German for tough away games as he couldn't handle the physical side of the game.

The World Cup winner has also been plagued by a number of injuries - restricting him to just 31 games in all competitions.

Speaking to on whether he wants to stay at the club, Ozil said: "Absolutely. I've got two more years on my contract.

"I don't know after that but I've got two years left."

Asked if he is happy in North London, he added: "Yes. Why not? I'm 30 now, still got years in front of me, it's down to the club as well of course, but I've got two years here - after that I don't know what happens."

Ozil then revealed he has been frustrated over his reduced playing time this campaign, but insists his relationship with Emery is fine.

I've got two more years on my contract. I don't know after that but I've got two years left.

He said: "No [issues with Emery]. Definitely not. There's always speculation, everyone inside knew that our situation is positive.

"It's frustrating [not playing]. I want to play in every game. Through injury I've missed games but that's football.

"As a footballer you always want to start games. The coach makes decisions which means you may not start but you have to keep going."

Emery was full of praise when speaking about the ex-Real Madrid maestro earlier this month, with the player adapting to his style of play.

Asked if Ozil is working harder for the team, the Spaniard said: "Yes. Yes. He is working very well and playing well. He is helping us. I am very happy with him.

"Now in the team we have a good atmosphere, good spirit. Each player is helping us with his quality and good behaviour.

"This is the spirit I want. They are doing that and Mesut is also."

Ozil is in line to feature against La Liga side Valencia in the Europa League semi-final first leg at the Emirates tonight.

The playmaker missed the 3-0 defeat against Leicester on Sunday with a foot injury, as the Gunners suffered a major blow in their quest to finish in the top four.
