The 47-year-old is keen to keep hold of Pogba as he is an important figure in United's marketing plans.

Woodward blocked the 26-year-old from joining Barcelona last summer after he fell out with Jose Mourinho.

But Solskjaer is not willing to keep a player in his squad who does not want to be playing there.

Pogba, who returned to Old Trafford for £89m from Juventus in 2016, has been slapped with a £160m price-tag.

The Norwegian boss is willing to cash in on the midfielder to fund his summer overhaul at Old Trafford.

But Real Madrid will want the club to lower their valuation of the Frenchman, who has scored 16 goals and made 11 assists this season.
