TOTTENHAM joined Liverpool in completing a famous comeback to reach the Champions League final in Madrid.

After the Reds thumped Barcelona 4-0 in one of the great European nights, Spurs scored three times in the second-half in Amsterdam to get past Ajax.

Just one way Tottenham fans can get to Madrid more cheaply

By now, Spurs fans are certain to have checked the cost of flights to the Spanish capital for the June 1 showdown - and no doubt gawked at the cost.

Direct flights cost close to £1,000 - which is still under half the price of flights from Liverpool - but that's still obscene for a pair of two-hour flights.

We've run down four options for how to get there - if you don't mind the odd stopover - for ONE TENTH of the price...

OPTION 1 - £106

DEPART: Luton --> Bologna --> Stuttgart --> Copenhagen --> Madrid

RETURN: Madrid --> Milan --> Stansted

WELL this is certainly cheaper, but it's a truly bonkers route and not one for the faint of heart.

Flying out of Luton to Madrid via Italy, Germany and Denmark is a hell of a trip.

In fact, the four flights total a whopping 52 hours.

The way home is a much more pleasant 14-and-a-half hours via Italy - but you'll be jetting into a different London-based airport, so be wary!

OPTION 2 - £110

DEPART: Stansted --> Vienna --> Palma --> Madrid

RETURN: Madrid --> Milan --> Stansted

FOR an extra four quid, might I recommend this option?

One fewer stopover and nearly 40 hours less at just 14 hours in total, this is far more pleasant.

Taking in the sights of Austria and Majora, albeit briefly, you'll still be in Madrid in no time.

On the way home, you can head back into the same London airport, Stansted, making the round-trip far more pleasant.

OPTION 3 - 129

DEPART: Stansted --> Asturias --> Madrid

RETURN: Madrid--> Milan --> Stansted

JUST the one stopover here - and in the correct destination country, no less - this trip is a little more pricey, but far less Spainful.

A quick stop in Asturias in northern Spain and you'll be in Madrid in a matter of hours.

And if you hadn't noticed, a flight via Milan and back into Stansted does appear to be the best option...

OPTION 4 - £149

DEPART: Stansted --> Venice --> Madrid

RETURN: Madrid --> Stansted

A POTENTIAL favourite on this list, you can see the wonderful city of Venice - albeit only from the air - and enjoy a stopover free return trip.

With just the one, hour-long break in Italy, London to Madrid will take just SIX HOURS.

And on the way home, you'll get from Madrid back to London in just two-and-a-half hours.

Worth the extra few quid? You decide...
