Daft fan gets ‘Leeds play-off winners’ tattoo… before they’ve even played the semi

Jamie Richardson's previous inkwork predictions have not always come off

A LEEDS fan is so confident they will win the play-offs he has had it tattooed on himself.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side missed out on automatic promotion from the Championship after they were pipped to second spot by Sheffield United.

That consigned the Elland Road club to the lottery of the play-offs.

They travel to Frank Lampard’s in-form Derby tomorrow before welcoming the Rams north for the decisive second-leg on Wednesday.

With Aston Villa and West Brom contesting the other semi-final, most neutrals are finding it tough to pick out who will secure Premier League football.

INK-CREDIBLE

But Leeds supporter Jamie Richardson has complete faith Bielsa and his heroes will be celebrating at Wembley on May 27.

So much so the die-hard fan from Allerton Bywater, West Yorkshire, has had the inking done on his shoulder BEFORE the play-offs have even begun.

It reads: “Leeds United 2019 Championship Playoff winners.”

Richardson, who predicts a 3-0 away win tomorrow, told PA: “We'll absolutely rip them to bits. Sometimes it's just written in the stars.”

His inkwork also reads “in Bielsa we trust”, and Richardson is delighted with the Argentine’s efforts in steering them to glory.

He said: “Bielsa has come in, changed everything about the club from top to bottom.”

TAT'S NOT THE FIRST TIME

Richardson does not have a ticket for Saturday’s showdown but will travel to Derby to watch it with fellow fans.

And this show of faith is not the first time he has opted to declare his confidence permanently on himself – but his predictions have not always come off.

Last summer he got another tattoo saying “England 2018 World Cup winners”.

Despite the Three Lions being knocked out in the semis by Croatia, Richardson is adamant: “I have absolutely no regrets at all.

“It's better to have believed and to have lost than not to have believed at all.”
