Arsenal fans delirious as Gazidis ‘opens talks with Mustafi over AC Milan transfer’
Serie A giants could offer the unwanted centre-back an escape route following a recommendation from the former Gunners chief executive
AC MILAN are considering a move for Arsenal flop Shkodran Mustafi with former club chief executive Ivan Gazidis orchestrating the transfer, according to reports.
And Gunners fans have rejoiced on social media at prospects of letting the out-of-sorts defender go.
Mustafi, 27, has fallen victim to the wrath of Arsenal supporters as he has committed a number of costly errors this season.
Only recently they called on Unai Emery to "hide" the German's passport ahead of his side's trip to Baku for the Europa League final on May 29.
And according to Tuttosport, the former Valencia star could be on his way out of the Emirates this summer with Milan offering him an escape route.
The man who signed him for the Gunners in 2016 - Milan's CEO Gazidis - reportedly masterminds the move and is believed to have already reached out to the defender's camp.
The Italians are looking for a centre-back with Serie A experience and Mustafi ticks that box, having spent two seasons at Sampdoria before moving to Spain in 2014.
And the Arsenal faithful couldn't contain their joy hearing that the unwanted centre-back might soon be shown the doors.
Jack tweeted: "I will drive Mustafi to Milan just to ensure he never puts our shirt on again..."
