Arsenal star Alexandre Lacazette listed as Barcelona player on club’s official website amid transfer speculation… but it is a technical glitch
SOCIAL MEDIA went into meltdown after Barcelona's website listed Alexandre Lacazette as a player — but it appears to be a technical glitch.
The Gunners' forward, 27, has had his best season in North London after helping fire them to the Europa League final.
But almost completely out of the blue, his name has appeared on the Barca site in the 'Players' section with a £70million valuation on his head.
It would seem unfathomable to Gunners fans that the club would sell him, with their Champions League qualification on the line in the Europa final in two weeks' time.
However, it appears there is a technical glitch on Barcelona's website that allows all number of players to be named on it in this way.
Every player they play against is actually listed on the site.
The odd flaw sent users on social media into meltdown thinking Barca had actually captured Arsenal's most effective attacker.
A Twitter user @afcevan had a simple explanation for the flaw.
He tweeted: "Anyone worrying about Lacazette being on the Barcelona website, stop.
"They put every player who they play against on there, simply change the 4 digit code and it changes to a different one."
Another, @afcDW suggested they sign former Gunners defender Steve Bould, 56, who is also on there.

He tweeted: "Looks like they have one for Arsenal defender Steve Bould too, evidently opting for experience by adding the 56-year-old to their back line."
Ironically, Lacazette is one of the names being linked heavily with Barca this summer.
The Frenchman has scored 19 goals and 13 assists in all competitions for Unai Emery's side and is becoming every bit the player Arsenal hoped he would.
