Paul Pogba ‘tells Real Madrid he will take pay-cut’ as Zidane accelerates transfer pursuit of wantaway Man Utd ace
Despite being the club top scorer in the league the Frenchman has born the brunt of the United faithful's frustrations and is looking to make the summer move to the Bernabeu
PAUL POGBA is prepared to take a pay-cut to get his move to Real Madrid over the line.
The midfielder is keen to quit Manchester United and link up with his French compatriot Zinedine Zidane at the Bernabeu.
The 26-year-old earns £290,000-a-week at Old Trafford.
But the Los Blancos top brass are not prepared to go anywhere near those numbers to lure Pogba to the Spanish capital.
However, in Spain report the World Cup winner is willing to compromise on his wages if it means he can get out of England.
Zidane wants Pogba at the heart of his new-look midfield next season as they look to challenge Barcelona for domestic honours.
Real have already bagged Eintracht Frankfurt striker Luka Jovic and will step up their efforts to sign the United midfielder and Chelsea’s main man Eden Hazard.
Despite his best goalscoring return as a pro scoring thirteen league goals and being named in the PFA Team of the Year, Pogba is seen as the poster boy for a poor United campaign trailing a whopping 32 points behind champions Manchester City.
The humiliating defeat at home to relegated Cardiff on the final day of the season saw fans frustrations boil over Old Trafford as one fan told Pogba: “You’re f***ing s**** mate, f*** off, get on your bike and f*** off.”
But United are determined to keep Pogba, but could be prepared to do business at £150million.
